Getting an Amazon.com accountFirst, make sure to get to the "ADAPA on the Cloud Sign Up" page on the Zementis website. In this page, once you click the sign up button, you will be directed to Amazon.

If you already have an Amazon account, feel free to use it. If not, you will need to create one by selecting "I am a new user."
Subscribing to the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud Once you are able to sign in, you will need to subscribe to the Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) service. ADAPA on the Cloud uses the EC2 services. The Amazon EC2 sign in process entails you entering your personal information as well as identity verification. The process involves filling out a few forms. The first stage of this process will look like this:

Note that this is just a welcoming page with information about Amazon EC2 and S3 (Simple Storage Service). Go to the bottom of the page and click on "Sign Up for Amazon EC2". Once you do that, you will be faced with a page that looks like this:

On this page, you will be asked to enter you contact information. You will also be asked to read the "AWS Customer Agreement". Please, do so and check the required box. Also, for security check, enter the correct Captcha image. Once you do that and click on "Continue", you will be faced with a page containing the base pricing for EC2. On this page, scroll down to enter your credit card information. This is the credit card you will be charged on for usage of ADAPA on the Cloud which includes running instances and data transfer (see ADAPA on the Cloud pricing).

After entering your card information, click on "Continue" to enter your billing address. Once you do that, click on "Continue" again. This time around you will be asked to verify your identity by telephone. This is a simple process that only takes a couple minutes and consists of you receiving a call from Amazon and entering a PIN number (given to you by Amazon).

After you successfully verify your identity with Amazon, you will be faced with a page in which you will have the chance to review your choices for processing with EC2. Note that by signing up for Amazon EC2 you also automatically sign up for Amazon Simple Storage Service and Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (you do not need these to run ADAPA, but they come as part of the Amazon EC2 package). Once you have reviewed all options, click on "Complete Sign Up."

Once you complete the sign up process for EC2, a confirmation note will be sent to your e-mail address. This note will contain information on how to access your Amazon Web Services (AWS) account. It will also contain a hyper link to a page in which you will be able to retrieve your Access Key ID and your Secret Access Key (both needed to run ADAPA - so, keep that in mind).
Subscribing to ADAPA on the Cloud It is now time for you to subscribe to ADAPA on the Cloud.

Please, review the pricing information for ADAPA (this is what you are going to pay whenever you have a running instance of ADAPA). Given that you have not yet used any of the services, your total is still $0.00. Click on "Place your order." Once you do that, you will then be faced with a page containing a header. Note that the header shows an activation code. You do not need this code to run ADAPA. Underneath this header, find the ADAPA Control Center.

You are now good to go (given that you have your access keys). Please, check blogs on the ADAPA Control Center on how to use it to launch ADAPA instances. You can now close the header by clicking on the "close" icon on the top right corner.
For information on how to manage your subscription, please check our blog on how to manage your EC2 ADAPA subscription. We also have blogs on how to manage your EC2 AWS account. Make sure to check that too.
Thanks for purchasing ADAPA on the Cloud.
