How can I use the ADAPA Control Center?

Simple, see our ADAPA Control Center tutorial video or read below.

[High Res Video: Tutorial - ADAPA Control Center]

To be able to login and use the functionality provided by the ADAPA Control Center (what is this?), first you will need to enter your Amazon account keys (see figure below). These are the Access Key ID and the Secret Access Key. Please review blog on how to find these two keys for more information.

Once you enter both access keys, you will be able to see a list of all your current ADAPA instances (if any had been previously launched). These are displayed on a table (see figure below).

This table contains data for all your instances in which information for a single instance is displayed on the same row. The table is divided in 7 columns which contain specific information about each instance:
  1. instance ID
  2. Status: Running, Pending, Verifying, or Terminated
  3. Console: click on it to access the ADAPA Console for running instances
  4. instance Type (for more info see below)
  5. Region: US East, US West, Europe and Asia-Pacific
  6. Launch Date
  7. Actions: the ability to terminate or reboot running instances
The Console column contains a hyper-link for each running instance that refers to the ADAPA Console for that particular instance (see blog on how to use the ADAPA Console). It is in the console that you will be able to upload models and data for decisioning.

The ADAPA Control Center also allows you to launch new ADAPA instances (see figure below). Note that Amazon limits the number of parallel instances to 20. On the other hand, the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) provides the flexibility for instances to be chosen from a number of different types to meet your processing needs. Available types are: Small, Large, Extra Large, High-CPU (Medium and Extra Large), and High-Memory (Extra Large, Double Extra Large, and Quadruple Extra Large). For the differences between types, you can take a look at the Amazon EC2 Instance Types page available on the Amazon website.

Besides instance types, the ADAPA Control Center also allows you to launch instance on different Availability Zones and Regions. Availability Zones are distinct locations that are engineered to be insulated from failures in other Availability Zones. Regions consist of one or more Availability Zones, are geographically dispersed, and are located in separate geographic areas or countries. If you select "Any Zone" for a region, Amazon will automatically select the zone. By launching an instance in a region closer to you and your customers, you insure shorter latency times. Available Regions are: US East, US West (Northern California and Oregon), Europe, Asia-Pacific (Singapore and Tokyo), and South America (Sao Paulo).

Last but not least, make sure you enter a valid e-mail address. This is necessary for you to have access to the ADAPA console. Also, if ever need to change your password in ADAPA, this is the address your new password will be sent to. You may also select to enter your name, phone number, company, and title. This information is important since it will help us to identify you in case you need to contact our technical support.
